US President Donald Trump says he is consulting with senior advisers in the White House Situation Room as he considers a final decision on a potential agreement with Iran.
In a post on Truth Social, Trump stated that Iran must commit never to obtaining a nuclear weapon and that the Strait of Hormuz should be immediately reopened to unrestricted international shipping.
He also claimed that a proposed agreement under discussion includes the removal and destruction of approximately 400 kilograms of enriched uranium from damaged Iranian nuclear facilities.
According to Trump, the material is buried within underground installations and only the United States and China possess the technical capability required to safely remove it.
The US president further said that any such process would be coordinated with the Islamic Republic of Iran and the International Atomic Energy Agency.
Meanwhile, Mohammad Bagher Ghalibaf, a member of Iran’s negotiating team, stressed in a message on X that Tehran has secured its achievements through military strength rather than negotiations.
He wrote that Iran does not trust American promises or guarantees and will judge developments based only on practical actions.
At the same time, Iranian state media, citing sources close to the negotiating team, reported that no peace agreement has yet been finalized or officially approved.
The latest statements highlight that despite growing speculation about a possible breakthrough between Tehran and Washington, major differences and uncertainties remain regarding the details and ultimate outcome of the negotiations.
Diplomatic efforts have intensified in recent weeks, but officials on both sides continue to signal caution as discussions move toward a potentially decisive stage.
