US President Donald Trump has once again used sharp language against Iran, saying Washington is not satisfied with Tehran’s proposals regarding a possible agreement.
Trump claimed that Iran restored international internet access because the country had reached “the edge” and was facing severe internal pressure.
“Iran wants a deal and has no other choice,” the US president said.
Trump also stated that Tehran believes he wants to end tensions because of upcoming US midterm elections, but insisted that electoral considerations do not influence his decisions.
“We have not reached an agreement with Iran so far, and I am not happy about it,” he added.
The US president warned that Washington may be forced to “go back and finish the job with Iran,” though he said no final decision has yet been made.
Trump further described Iran’s current situation as critical and claimed the Islamic Republic is negotiating while standing “on the verge of collapse.”
The latest remarks come as reports in recent days have pointed to continued diplomatic contacts and negotiations between Tehran and Washington aimed at reaching a possible agreement.
Tensions between Iran and the United States remain high amid ongoing disputes over Tehran’s nuclear program, sanctions, and regional security issues.
