US President Donald Trump has signaled that Washington could soon launch additional military strikes against targets inside Iran, warning that the pace of negotiations with Tehran is testing American patience and increasing the likelihood of further action.
Speaking in an interview with Fox News, Trump said new orders for attacks on Iranian infrastructure could be issued in the near future if negotiations fail to make meaningful progress. He argued that the Iranian government has spent too much time delaying an agreement and suggested that the current diplomatic process cannot continue indefinitely.
“The order could come soon,” Trump said, indicating that Washington is prepared to consider additional measures if the talks remain stalled.
The US president also claimed that recent American military operations significantly weakened Iran’s military capabilities. According to Trump, around 55 percent of the radar systems that Iran had rebuilt during a period of reduced tensions were destroyed in recent strikes.
Trump further described Iran’s military establishment as being in a state of disorder, claiming that large portions of the country’s naval and air capabilities had been damaged. He did not provide evidence to support those assessments, and independent verification of the claims has not been made public.
In a separate message posted on his Truth Social platform, Trump accused Tehran of wasting an opportunity to reach what he described as a favorable agreement. He argued that Iranian leaders had delayed negotiations for too long and would now face the consequences of those decisions.
The president also repeated one of his longstanding descriptions of Iran as the “bully of the Middle East,” while asserting that the country is now in a weaker strategic position than before.
Trump’s remarks come at a sensitive moment for US-Iran relations. Although diplomatic contacts and discussions over Iran’s nuclear activities have continued in recent months, major disagreements remain over sanctions, uranium enrichment, regional security issues and the future framework of any potential agreement.
The latest comments are likely to raise concerns about a possible escalation in tensions between Washington and Tehran. Any new military action could have implications not only for US-Iran relations but also for security in the wider Middle East, where regional actors continue to monitor developments closely.
Iranian officials had not issued an official response to Trump’s latest statements at the time of publication. Whether the remarks are intended primarily as negotiating pressure or signal preparations for further military action remains unclear, but they underscore the fragile state of diplomacy between the two countries and the continuing risk of confrontation.
