France has renewed its criticism of Israel’s continued military operations in Lebanon and called for an end to the Israeli military presence on Lebanese territory.
The French foreign minister stated that nothing can justify the continuation of Israeli military operations or the prolonged occupation of parts of Lebanon.
He described such actions as “a major mistake” and stressed that the Lebanese crisis should be addressed through diplomacy, respect for national sovereignty and the implementation of international agreements.
The remarks come as tensions between Israel and Hezbollah remain high and cross-border hostilities continue to fuel concerns about a broader regional conflict.
France has repeatedly called for restraint from all parties and has emphasized the importance of protecting civilians and preventing further escalation in the Middle East.
As one of the key international actors involved in Lebanese affairs, Paris has consistently supported diplomatic initiatives aimed at restoring stability and reducing the risk of wider confrontation.
French officials have also underlined that Lebanon’s territorial integrity and sovereignty must be respected by all sides and that long-term security can only be achieved through political solutions rather than military escalation.
The latest comments reflect growing international concern over the potential consequences of continued fighting along the Israel-Lebanon border and the possibility of a wider regional crisis.
Diplomatic efforts led by regional and international stakeholders continue as attempts are made to reduce tensions and preserve stability in Lebanon and the broader Middle East.
