US President Donald Trump has announced that following a conversation with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, a decision was made not to deploy any forces to Beirut and to recall personnel who were already en route.
In a message published on Truth Social, Trump described his discussion with Netanyahu as “very productive” and said both sides had worked to prevent further escalation in Lebanon.
The US president also claimed that senior American representatives had communicated with Hezbollah and that the group had agreed to halt all shooting activities.
According to Trump, Israel would likewise refrain from carrying out military action and both sides would avoid further escalation.
In a separate statement, Trump said negotiations between the United States and the Islamic Republic of Iran were advancing rapidly.
His remarks come amid continued diplomatic efforts aimed at reducing tensions across the Middle East and preventing a wider regional conflict.
However, Iranian media have reported a different assessment of recent developments. According to Tasnim News Agency, the Iranian negotiating team has suspended the exchange of messages and draft texts through mediators following what Tehran considers violations of the ceasefire arrangement in Lebanon.
The report said Iranian officials view developments in Lebanon as part of the broader conditions linked to ongoing diplomatic understandings and believe recent events could affect the negotiation process.
As of now, no official response has been issued by Iranian authorities, the Israeli government, or Hezbollah regarding Trump’s claims.
The situation remains fluid, with observers closely monitoring whether diplomatic efforts can preserve stability in Lebanon while also supporting ongoing negotiations involving Iran and the United States.
Regional tensions, maritime security concerns, and broader geopolitical disputes continue to influence the diplomatic landscape across the Middle East.
