The Taliban Ministry of Foreign Affairs has condemned drone attacks targeting civilian facilities in the United Arab Emirates and expressed concern over rising violence in the region.
In a statement, the ministry said escalating tensions and attacks across the Middle East are alarming and warned against further expansion of the crisis.
The Taliban specifically condemned the reported drone attack near the Barakah nuclear power plant in the Al Dhafra region of the UAE.
The United Arab Emirates previously announced that a drone struck an electricity generator located outside the internal perimeter of the Barakah facility.
UAE officials stated that no injuries were reported and radiation safety levels remained unchanged.
According to the UAE Ministry of Defense, three drones entered the country’s airspace from the western border area, while two additional drones were intercepted and destroyed.
The UAE Ministry of Foreign Affairs described the incident as an “unprovoked terrorist act” and said targeting peaceful nuclear facilities represents a threat to both national and regional security.
At the same time, the International Atomic Energy Agency confirmed that radiation levels at the Barakah facility remained normal and that no casualties had been reported.
Analysts say attacks targeting sensitive infrastructure and strategic facilities in the Middle East are increasing fears of a broader regional crisis.
Experts warn that any serious attack on nuclear or energy infrastructure could carry major security, economic, and environmental consequences for the region and beyond.
Observers note that growing regional tensions are now moving dangerously close to critical civilian infrastructure, raising concerns over the potential for wider escalation.
