Russia’s representative to international organizations has warned that any new military strikes by the United States and Israel against Iran would demonstrate that both countries have failed to learn from previous “strategic mistakes.”
The remarks come amid growing speculation about the possible resumption of military confrontations in the Middle East.
In a message published on X, the Russian official said that some “Western experts” believe the United States and Israel could resume attacks against Iran within days or even hours.
He added that if such predictions prove accurate, it would indicate that Washington and Tel Aviv continue to rely on a strategy that has previously failed to fully achieve its intended goals.
Russia has in recent months attempted to maintain its role as one of the key international actors involved in managing tensions between Iran and Western countries.
Analysts say Moscow’s warning reflects Russian concerns over a wider regional conflict that could carry major economic, energy, and security consequences globally.
Observers also note that the statement highlights how geopolitical competition between Russia and the West has become increasingly connected to developments in the Middle East.
In recent weeks, tensions between Iran, the United States, and Israel have intensified again, while reports of possible renewed military action have continued to circulate.
Experts believe Russia is seeking to portray further escalation not as a path to deterrence, but as evidence of the limits and failures of military pressure in resolving regional conflicts.
