U.S. President Donald Trump has described his meeting at the White House with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and several members of the U.S. House of Representatives as a “great honor” and “very good.”
In a message accompanying photographs from the meeting, Trump wrote that the participants had discussed “many important issues,” without providing further details.
Netanyahu thanked the Trump administration for its continued support of Israel and said the discussions would play an important role in shaping the future of security in the Middle East.
The Israeli prime minister also stressed the importance of close coordination with the White House to advance shared strategic objectives and pursue what he described as lasting peace through sustained pressure on common adversaries.
According to statements released after the meeting, the two sides also exchanged views on expanding the Abraham Accords and promoting broader diplomatic normalization between Israel and Arab countries in the region.
Trump expressed hope that continued cooperation and diplomatic engagement would contribute to greater regional stability and help reduce long-standing tensions across the Middle East.
The meeting reflects the close strategic relationship between Washington and Jerusalem as both governments continue consultations on regional security, diplomatic initiatives and broader developments across the Middle East.
