Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi has warned that the United States would face “more surprises” if military conflict with Iran resumes.
Writing on X early Wednesday, Araghchi claimed that Iranian forces were the first military force in the world to shoot down the advanced American F-35 fighter jet.
He also alleged that months after the start of the war against Iran, the U.S. Congress had acknowledged the destruction of dozens of aircraft worth billions of dollars.
“It has now been officially confirmed that our powerful armed forces became the first in the world to bring down the advanced and famous F-35 fighter jet,” Araghchi wrote.
The Iranian foreign minister further warned against renewed conflict, stating: “With the lessons we have learned and the knowledge we have gained, be assured that if you return to the battlefield, you will face many more surprises.”
His remarks came after U.S. President Donald Trump announced that a planned strike against Iran had been postponed for two to three days at the request of Qatar, Saudi Arabia, and the United Arab Emirates.
Trump warned that if Iran failed to reach an agreement within that time, the U.S. military was prepared for large-scale attacks.
The exchange of statements from Tehran and Washington highlights continuing military and rhetorical tensions between the two sides.
Analysts say both governments are simultaneously using diplomatic pressure and military messaging to reinforce deterrence and project strength.
Observers note that Iran’s emphasis on the F-35 issue is strategically significant because the aircraft represents one of the most advanced symbols of U.S. air superiority.
Experts believe Tehran is attempting to transform battlefield narratives into political and psychological leverage while signaling that future confrontations could become more costly and unpredictable.
At the same time, analysts warn that escalating threats and military signaling from both sides continue to raise fears of a broader regional crisis in the Middle East.
