Pakistan’s Information Minister Attaullah Tarar says Afghan Taliban forces have suffered heavy casualties during an operation known as “Ghazab-ul-Haq.”
In a post on X on Sunday, Tarar claimed that at least 796 Taliban fighters were killed and more than 1,043 others wounded in the operation.
He said 286 Taliban checkpoints were destroyed and 44 others captured, while 249 tanks, armored vehicles, artillery systems and drones were also destroyed.
Tarar further claimed that 81 armed individuals and their support centers were targeted in airstrikes across different parts of Afghanistan.
According to him, attempts by Taliban forces to attack a border post in the Ghulam Khan area on the nights of April 2 and 3 were repelled.
He added that dozens were killed or wounded in those clashes.
Taliban authorities have not yet commented on these claims.
