Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi said on Friday, August 28, that he held talks with the Qatari prime minister and foreign minister, adding that returning diplomacy to its main path remains possible.
In a post on X, Araghchi said he had held what he described as “creative discussions” with Qatar’s senior officials.
He said restoring diplomacy depends on the United States understanding what he called a “simple reality”: pressure does not work.
Araghchi called on Washington to build trust, engage with respect, recognize Iran’s rights and honor its commitments as a basis for reviving diplomatic efforts.
