Iranian state media have reported that the Islamic Republic’s negotiating delegation has departed for Switzerland to participate in discussions with the United States regarding the implementation of the recently announced war-end memorandum.
According to the reports, Iranian Parliament Speaker Mohammad Bagher Ghalibaf and Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi are leading the delegation.
Other members of the Iranian team include Abdolnaser Hemmati, Kazem Gharibabadi, Esmaeil Baghaei and Hamid Bourd.
The Fars News Agency, which is closely associated with Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps, also reported, citing an informed source, that Ali Bagheri Kani, deputy secretary of Iran’s Supreme National Security Council, is part of the delegation.
Iranian Foreign Ministry spokesman Esmaeil Baghaei said the purpose of the visit is to follow up on the implementation of commitments undertaken by the other side.
He stressed that the meeting in Switzerland should not be interpreted as the start of a new round of negotiations between Tehran and Washington.
The visit comes as both countries move into the implementation phase following the announcement of the memorandum and continue consultations on practical mechanisms and technical arrangements.
Iranian officials have emphasized that the focus of the discussions will be on monitoring obligations and advancing agreed measures rather than negotiating a new framework.
So far, U.S. officials have not publicly commented on the composition of the American delegation or provided details regarding the agenda and structure of the Swiss meeting.
The Switzerland talks are being closely watched by regional and international observers, who view them as an important test of whether both sides can successfully implement the commitments outlined in the memorandum and maintain momentum toward broader diplomatic engagement.
