Noorullah Noori, the Taliban’s minister for borders, ethnic groups, and tribal affairs, has claimed that the level of security and independence currently present in Afghanistan exceeds that of many developed countries.
Speaking at a gathering in Balkh province, Noori emphasized the importance of protecting Afghanistan’s territorial integrity and described defense of the country’s land as a national responsibility for all citizens.
He stated that every part of Afghanistan’s territory—from Wakhan to Nimroz, and from Boldak and Torkham to Hairatan and Shir Khan—is of immense national value.
The remarks reinforce the Taliban’s broader narrative of security and sovereignty since returning to power.
However, questions surrounding internal security, border stability, and broader assessments of Afghanistan’s conditions remain subjects of domestic and international debate.
