Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi has held separate telephone conversations with Pakistan’s Chief of Army Staff Asim Munir, Turkish Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan and Saudi Foreign Minister Prince Faisal bin Farhan Al Saud to discuss the potential consequences of escalating tensions between Tehran and Washington.
According to Iranian reports, Araghchi warned during the discussions that any military action by the United States against Iran would be met with what he described as a “decisive response” aimed at protecting the country’s sovereignty and national security.
The consultations come amid growing concerns over the possibility of a broader regional confrontation and continued diplomatic efforts by regional powers to prevent further escalation.
Iranian officials have not released detailed readouts of the conversations. However, the contacts are widely viewed as part of Tehran’s ongoing diplomatic outreach to influential regional countries as tensions with the United States continue to rise.
No public statements from Pakistan, Türkiye or Saudi Arabia providing additional details of the discussions had been released at the time of publication.
