French President Emmanuel Macron has called for a rapid agreement between the United States and Iran, stressing that the current diplomatic opportunity should be seized without delay.
In a message posted on X, Macron said he had discussed the situation with the leaders of Saudi Arabia, Oman, the United Arab Emirates and Egypt, emphasizing the need for urgent efforts to reduce tensions in the region.
According to the French president, the immediate priority should be achieving a ceasefire and reopening the Strait of Hormuz without preconditions and in accordance with international law.
Macron stated that once stability is restored, diplomatic efforts should continue toward a comprehensive agreement covering Iran’s nuclear program, missile activities and broader regional security issues.
He also reiterated France’s readiness to play an active role in maritime security, nuclear negotiations and the development of a wider regional security framework.
The French leader emphasized that sustainable stability in the Middle East requires dialogue, diplomacy and cooperation among regional and international actors.
In addition, Macron expressed concern about the situation in Lebanon, warning against any escalation of hostilities in the country’s south.
He stated that nothing can justify a further expansion of violence in southern Lebanon and called on all parties to exercise restraint.
Macron’s remarks come as diplomatic efforts continue to address tensions involving Iran, the United States and regional powers, while concerns remain over maritime security, energy supplies and broader regional stability.
