The Taliban’s Department for the Promotion of Virtue and Prevention of Vice in Andar district of Ghazni province says it has confiscated a number of musical and recreational items during inspections of public leisure areas.

According to the department’s daily report, Taliban personnel visited several locations across Andar district, including the district’s public park, on Sunday evening.

The report states that officials collected 14 tambourines, eight MP3 music players, and 15 Ludo game sets from young people who had gathered in the area for recreation.

The Taliban did not provide details regarding whether any individuals were detained during the operation.

However, Taliban authorities have previously stated that people found violating regulations imposed by the administration could face detention and legal action.

In recent years, the Taliban’s Ministry for the Promotion of Virtue and Prevention of Vice has imposed extensive restrictions on cultural, artistic, recreational, and social activities across Afghanistan.

Such measures have drawn criticism from human rights organizations, civil society activists, and international groups, who argue that the restrictions have narrowed public space for cultural expression and entertainment.

The latest action in Ghazni reflects the continued enforcement of Taliban regulations governing public behavior and leisure activities throughout the country.
