French President Emmanuel Macron has announced close coordination with Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman following the start of negotiations related to Iran.
In a message posted on X, Macron said he reaffirmed his support for the ongoing ceasefire and called for its full implementation, as well as its immediate expansion to Lebanon.
He also stressed the urgent need to restore full freedom and security of navigation in the Strait of Hormuz, a critical route for global energy supplies.
Macron added that Paris and Riyadh have agreed to remain in close contact to help reduce regional tensions and support efforts toward a broader and lasting peace agreement.
The statement comes as diplomatic efforts intensify, including the launch of negotiations in Islamabad aimed at easing tensions in the region.
