Local Sources: Man Killed by Unknown Gunmen in BalkhIncident Adds to Concerns Over Unresolved Killings

قتل یک کارگر در بلخ؛ ادامه قتل‌های مرموز و نگرانی از نبود پاسخ

Local sources in Balkh province report that a man identified as Agha Niaz, a resident of Shortepa district, has been shot and killed by unidentified armed individuals.

According to the sources, Agha Niaz was of Turkmen ethnicity and worked as a daily laborer on the Qosh Tepa canal project. He had returned home on Monday, 14 Sawr, to visit his family but was fatally shot while grazing livestock.

No official statement has yet been issued by Taliban authorities, and the motive behind the killing remains unclear.

The incident comes amid previous reports of similar killings in Balkh and other parts of Afghanistan, including Kabul, where cases of unexplained or targeted violence have raised growing concern.

The apparent pattern of unresolved killings, combined with limited official transparency, has heightened fears about the broader security situation.

These developments suggest that security challenges in Afghanistan extend beyond the absence of large-scale conflict, encompassing the persistence of localized and often unexplained violence.

If such incidents continue without investigation or accountability, they risk increasing public fear and eroding trust in security institutions.
