Rashid Khan, star player of Afghanistan’s national cricket team, has visited former Afghan cricketer Shapoor Zadran, who has been hospitalized in India for some time.
In a Facebook post, Rashid Khan said he remains in continuous contact with hospital management and medical staff to ensure all necessary coordination and support for Shapoor Zadran’s treatment.
“Our efforts continue to make sure everything proceeds in the best possible way,” he wrote.
The Afghan cricket star also expressed hope that Shapoor Zadran would recover soon and once again return among the people.
Rashid Khan further asked the public to pray for Shapoor Zadran’s health and recovery.
Shapoor Zadran is considered one of the well-known former players of Afghanistan’s national cricket team and played an important role in the rise and international recognition of Afghan cricket over the past years.
News of his hospitalization in India has prompted reactions and messages of support from Afghan sports figures and cricket fans.
Analysts say cricket in Afghanistan has evolved beyond sport and become a powerful symbol of national identity, unity, and international visibility for many Afghans.
Experts note that gestures of solidarity among prominent Afghan cricketers often carry emotional significance for the public, particularly in a country where sport has frequently served as one of the few sources of collective pride and positive international recognition.
