A new radio station, Haqiq Radio, has officially begun broadcasting in Kabul, entering Afghanistan’s media landscape with a programming lineup focused on news, social issues, education, culture and public awareness.
Obaid Najrabi, the station’s official, said Haqiq Radio will broadcast news alongside social, cultural, educational, informational and public-awareness programs designed for its listeners.
According to Najrabi, the station’s stated objective is to provide accurate, credible and timely information while producing professional and useful content addressing issues of importance to society.
Haqiq Radio officials say the station will emphasize professional journalism, give greater attention to public voices, and focus on education, culture and social awareness. They say the broadcaster aims to contribute to the media environment in Kabul through programming that responds to community needs.
The launch comes as radio remains an important means of accessing news, educational material and social programming in Afghanistan, particularly for audiences who rely on broadcast media for regular information.
From the Nimruz perspective, the significance of Haqiq Radio’s launch lies not only in the arrival of another broadcaster, but also in the commitments the station has made regarding accuracy, professional journalism and public-focused programming. Whether those commitments translate into sustained, independent and useful journalism will depend on the station’s reporting practices, editorial standards and ability to maintain meaningful engagement with its audience.
For now, Haqiq Radio’s official launch adds another voice to Kabul’s media landscape at a time when access to reliable information remains an important public need.
