The Turkish Embassy in Pakistan has condemned the recent attack on a police facility in Karachi and reaffirmed Ankara’s support for Pakistan in its fight against terrorism.
In a statement posted Tuesday on the social media platform X, the Turkish diplomatic mission in Islamabad expressed condolences to the families of those killed in what it described as a “barbaric” attack.
The embassy stated that “Türkiye has always stood firmly with Pakistan in its fight against terrorism in all its forms and will continue to do so.”
Three Pakistani security personnel were killed in the attack on the police facility in Karachi. Pakistan’s military has claimed that one of the attackers was an Afghan national who was arrested after being wounded during the incident.
Following the attack, Pakistan’s Foreign Ministry summoned the Taliban’s chargé d’affaires in Islamabad.
Despite its statement of support for Pakistan, Türkiye has not issued any official response to Pakistan’s recent military strikes inside Afghanistan.
Türkiye has maintained close political and security ties with Pakistan for years and has, on several occasions, hosted talks involving Pakistani officials and the Taliban.
The statement comes as tensions remain high following Pakistan’s recent cross-border military operation along the Afghan frontier. According to international sources, at least 28 civilians were killed and 49 others were injured in those attacks.
