Sources speaking to Nimruz TV say Taliban authorities have confiscated the Kabul home of former Afghan parliamentarian and prominent Taliban critic Fawzia Koofi, while also detaining three of her relatives.
According to the information provided, Taliban members are now reportedly stationed inside Koofi’s residence.
No official explanation has yet been publicly provided by Taliban authorities regarding the reason for the reported seizure or the condition of those detained.
Koofi, a former member of Afghanistan’s parliament, has long been one of the country’s most visible political figures and an outspoken critic of Taliban policies at both domestic and international levels.
The reported incident may intensify broader concerns over how political dissent is handled under Taliban rule, particularly when alleged pressure extends beyond public political activity to personal property and family networks.
Observers may view such developments as potentially significant in assessing the wider climate facing former officials, critics, and opposition-linked figures in Afghanistan.
