North Korea Reappoints Kim Jong Un as Head of State Affairs

North Korea’s state media reports that Kim Jong Un has been reappointed as chairman of state affairs.

The decision was made during the first session of the Supreme People’s Assembly in Pyongyang.

The assembly, a largely ceremonial legislature, formalizes policies set by the ruling party.

According to the report, discussions also covered amendments to the socialist constitution and the structure of state leadership institutions.

The country’s previously announced five-year economic plan is also expected to be reviewed.
