Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov has urged the Taliban to reduce military and political tensions with Pakistan during a phone call with Taliban Foreign Minister Amir Khan Muttaqi.
Russia’s Foreign Ministry said the call took place on Friday and included discussions on regional developments and the destabilizing consequences of attacks on Iran.
Lavrov emphasized the need to resolve differences between the Taliban and Pakistan through political and diplomatic channels.
The call comes amid rising clashes along the Durand Line between Taliban forces and the Pakistani military.
