Iran’s Foreign Ministry spokesperson says Tehran will spare no effort to reduce tensions and hostility between Afghanistan and Pakistan as relations between the two sides remain strained.
The spokesperson said Iran is currently focused on ending conflict and reducing instability across the region, adding that tensions between Kabul and Islamabad are a matter of serious concern for Tehran.
According to the Iranian official, relations between Afghanistan and Pakistan are being closely monitored at all levels of Iran’s government.
“We have repeatedly stated that we will not hesitate to take any step possible to reduce tensions and hostility between Afghanistan and Pakistan,” the spokesperson said.
The remarks come as relations between the Taliban administration and Pakistan have faced growing political, security, and border tensions in recent months.
Pakistan has repeatedly accused the Taliban of allowing anti-Islamabad militant groups to use Afghan territory for attacks against Pakistan — allegations the Taliban continue to reject.
Recent tensions between the two sides have also affected Afghan migrants, border trade, and broader economic relations between Afghanistan and Pakistan.
