Local sources in Afghanistan’s Jawzjan province say a woman and her three daughters were killed after unidentified armed men attacked a house in Sheberghan city.
According to sources, the incident occurred on Thursday night, 24 Sawr, in the “Pump House” area near Bandar-e Sarpol in Sheberghan.
Sources said the attackers entered the house “disguised as Taliban forces” and opened fire, killing the mother and her three daughters.
Three young sons of the family were also wounded in the attack, and their health condition has been described as critical.
According to local information, the father of the family is an ordinary laborer who works overnight at a fuel tank facility and was not at home when the attack happened.
The motive behind the attack and the identity of the perpetrators remain unknown.
Local Taliban authorities have not yet officially commented on the incident.
The attack comes amid increasing reports of mysterious killings, particularly involving women, in different parts of Afghanistan.
Just one day earlier, the bodies of two women were found in Kabul, while another woman’s body was discovered in Kandahar under unclear circumstances.
In many such cases, the identities of the perpetrators and motives behind the killings are not publicly disclosed, raising growing concerns over insecurity and targeted violence.
Analysts say attacks carried out by unidentified armed men, especially those allegedly wearing Taliban-style clothing, deepen public fear and undermine trust in security institutions.
Experts also warn that the continued lack of transparency in criminal investigations may contribute to rising anxiety, fear, and uncertainty among Afghan citizens, particularly women and vulnerable families.
