US President Donald Trump has warned that a ceasefire with Iran may not be extended if no agreement is reached by Wednesday, while also signaling possible progress in ongoing negotiations.
Speaking to reporters aboard Air Force One, Trump said that “very good news” had emerged shortly before his remarks, suggesting that talks with Iran could be moving in a positive direction.
At the same time, he cautioned that failure to reach a deal could lead to renewed escalation, including continued blockade measures and potential military action.
Trump reiterated that Iran would not be allowed to obtain nuclear weapons and stated that enriched uranium would be removed either through cooperation or “by other means.”
He also insisted that Iran cannot impose any fees on ships passing through the Strait of Hormuz.
Despite the warnings, Trump declined to provide details about the reported progress and described the situation as still uncertain.
The US president also hinted at an upcoming announcement at the White House, describing it as a “surprise,” though he did not confirm whether it was directly related to Iran.
Angle Analysis:
The statements reflect a dual-track strategy—combining optimism about a potential deal with explicit threats of escalation—creating a high-pressure negotiation environment marked by uncertainty and strategic ambiguity.
