At least 16 people have been injured in a school shooting in southeastern Turkey, according to local authorities.
The attack took place in the city of Şanlıurfa, where an 18-year-old former student entered a vocational high school and opened fire using a shotgun.
Among the injured are 10 students, four teachers, one security officer, and one school staff member. Officials reported that five of the wounded are in critical condition.
Authorities said the attacker died after shooting himself following the incident.
Reports indicate that some students jumped from windows in an attempt to escape the gunfire.
The motive behind the attack remains unclear, and police have launched an investigation.
The incident has renewed concerns over school safety, particularly in cases where the attacker has prior ties to the institution.
Angle Analysis:
The attack highlights a critical vulnerability—when threats emerge from within the school community, traditional security measures may be insufficient, raising broader concerns about prevention and early warning systems.
