Following Hormuz Tensions, Trump Pressures Europe to Join Action Against Iran

US President Donald Trump has criticized European allies, particularly the United Kingdom, for not participating in military operations against Iran and urged them to act to reopen the Strait of Hormuz.

In a post on Truth Social, Trump said countries now facing fuel shortages due to the closure of the strait had previously failed to support US military action against Iran.

He said those countries now have two options: purchase fuel from the United States or “act with courage” and take control of the Strait of Hormuz.

Trump also told US allies they must learn to defend themselves, saying the United States would no longer be there to assist them.

He further claimed that the “Iranian regime is effectively destroyed” and that the most difficult phase of the conflict is over.

The remarks come amid rising tensions in the region and growing concerns over the security of the Strait of Hormuz.
