Local media in Belgium report that an explosion has occurred at a synagogue in the city of Liège.
According to the VRT network, police officials said the blast happened around 4 a.m. local time and shattered the synagogue’s windows.
No injuries have been reported in the incident.
Liège mayor Willy Demeyer described the explosion as a “very violent antisemitic act,” while a counterterrorism unit has launched an investigation.
