French President Emmanuel Macron says a military solution cannot resolve Iran’s nuclear crisis and that diplomacy remains the only effective path.
Speaking during a visit to South Korea, he said recent US and Israeli strikes against Iran would not address the country’s nuclear program.
Macron warned that without a clear diplomatic and technical framework for negotiations, the situation could worsen again in the coming months or years.
He also described the idea of a military operation to reopen the Strait of Hormuz as “unrealistic,” saying such a move would carry significant risks.
According to Macron, navigation through the strait could face threats from Iran’s coastal defenses and missile capabilities.
Meanwhile, a US military official said operations against Iran have made progress and weakened the country’s military capabilities.
