US President Donald Trump says the country’s military operation against Iran could end within the next two to three weeks.
Speaking to reporters at the White House, he said the United States has achieved its main objectives and is now “finishing the job.”
Trump claimed the primary goal of the campaign—limiting Iran’s ability to develop nuclear weapons—has been accomplished.
He also said the US now has control over Iran’s airspace and that the situation in Tehran has shifted following the deaths of several senior leaders.
Trump added that US forces will withdraw once it is certain Iran can no longer build nuclear weapons, regardless of whether a deal is reached.
He further claimed that Iranian leaders are seeking an agreement to end the war, a claim previously rejected by Tehran.
