Bakhtar News Agency, a Taliban-controlled outlet, reports that four health centers have been built and opened in Khost province.
According to the report, the facilities were constructed at a cost of AFN 27 million in the districts of Mandozai, Tani, Zazi Maidan and Sabari.
Akhtar Mohammad Akram, Taliban’s public health director in Khost, said the centers are important for meeting local healthcare needs and will provide standard medical services.
The facilities are designed to focus on maternal and child healthcare, each serving at least 500 families.
The development comes as the World Health Organization has previously warned that hundreds of health centers in Afghanistan have been shut down due to funding shortages.
