Reza Pahlavi says a political transition in Iran may require engagement with some figures within the current power structure.
In an interview with a US network, he said such interaction could be necessary to facilitate change.
Pahlavi stressed that Mojtaba Khamenei and those close to him are not suitable for such a process.
He described Mojtaba Khamenei as similar in approach to Ali Khamenei and said Iranians would accept nothing less than a complete break from the current system.
His remarks come amid speculation about possible contacts between the United States and figures within Iran’s ruling structure.
