The European Union’s delegation in Afghanistan has called for Afghan girls to be allowed back to school in a message marking Nowruz.
The statement said it looks forward to the day when every girl can return to her classroom.
The EU also expressed hope that the new year would bring peace and prosperity to the people of Afghanistan.
The message comes as millions of girls in Afghanistan remain barred from education despite international pressure on the Taliban.
According to UNICEF, around four million children in Afghanistan are out of school.
