The Taliban say their leader Hibatullah Akhundzada led Eid al-Fitr prayers in Kandahar and delivered a speech.
According to an audio released by the Taliban, Akhundzada said that even if the group is bombed or targeted with artillery, people should not lose their faith.
He did not directly mention Pakistan or recent clashes between Taliban forces and Pakistan.
In his remarks, he said the group cannot be defeated by military force, adding that previous wars involving the United States and the Soviet Union had failed to eliminate them.
