The Taliban’s Defense Ministry has accused Pakistan’s military of violating a temporary ceasefire along the border, saying several civilians were killed in recent attacks.
Fasihuddin Fitrat, the Taliban army chief of staff, said the ceasefire had been agreed with mediation from friendly countries and that Taliban forces remain committed to it.
He said there have been multiple violations by Pakistani forces along the Durand Line.
Fitrat added that civilians were killed even on the first day of Eid al-Fitr, calling the actions a sign of “non-commitment and deception” by Pakistan’s military.
He said Taliban forces have so far refrained from retaliation despite the alleged violations.
