Foreign ministers of European Union member states are set to meet in Brussels on March 16 to discuss the war in Ukraine, developments in the Middle East and the impact of ongoing conflicts.
EU foreign policy chief Kaja Kallas said one of the key topics will be possible steps Europe could take to help keep the Strait of Hormuz open.
She said keeping the waterway open is in Europe’s interest and that discussions will focus on potential European actions.
Meanwhile, Germany has said it will not participate in any possible military mission to protect commercial shipping in the Strait of Hormuz.
