Women’s rights activists are calling on the international community to pay greater attention to the situation of women under Taliban rule in Afghanistan.
They say that while the world marks International Women’s Day on March 8, Afghan women remain deprived of their most basic rights and face increasing restrictions on their presence in public life.
Activists argue that in nearly five years of Taliban rule, the global response has largely been limited to statements and symbolic reactions on social media rather than concrete action.
They warn that continued silence from the international community could further worsen the situation for Afghan women and affect future generations.
