Deadly Floods Expose Disaster Preparedness GapsCasualties Rise Across Multiple Provinces

تکرار مرگبار سیلاب‌ها؛چرا زیرساخت‌ها همچنان در برابر بارندگی‌های شدید آسیب‌پذیرند؟

At least 11 people have been killed and six others injured following severe rainfall and flash floods across multiple provinces of Afghanistan over the past 24 hours.

Officials also reported that seven individuals remain missing, as rescue efforts continue in affected areas.

The heavy rains triggered sudden floods in at least 17 provinces, causing widespread destruction to homes, roads, and public infrastructure.

Mohammad Yousuf Hamad, spokesperson for the National Disaster Management Authority, confirmed the casualties and said the situation remains critical in several regions.

Authorities warn that continued rainfall could worsen the humanitarian situation, particularly in remote and vulnerable communities.

The floods have disrupted daily life and raised concerns about the country’s capacity to respond effectively to recurring natural disasters.

Angle Analysis:
The масштаб of the flooding highlights increasing climate vulnerability and exposes structural weaknesses in disaster preparedness and emergency response systems.
