The Norwegian Refugee Council says clashes along the Durand Line have had a devastating impact on civilians in eastern Afghanistan.
The organization urged all parties involved to ensure that civilians and civilian infrastructure are not targeted.
NRC country director Jacopo Caridi said many families who were already struggling have now been forced to flee their homes.
The group said at least 826 houses have been damaged or destroyed due to the clashes and that its education classes in Khost province have been temporarily suspended because of the security situation.
