Former Afghan President Hamid Karzai has praised the role and historical struggle of Afghan women on the occasion of International Women’s Day.
Karzai said women in Afghanistan have played an important role alongside men in the country’s development and progress.
He called for the reopening of schools and universities for girls and stressed the importance of women’s participation in work and public life.
Karzai added that women’s involvement in education, the economy, and social life can contribute to long-term stability and development in Afghanistan
